2026 MIPS Reporting Update & Important Reminders
We hope your year is off to a great start! As we move further into 2026, we wanted to share a few important reminders and updates related to MIPS reporting.
2026 Contracts – Action Required
If you have not yet signed your 2026 contract, please do so as soon as possible. A signed contract is required before AffordableQR can accept any data for the 2026 reporting year. CMS also requires us to provide quarterly performance feedback, and we are unable to do so without a signed agreement in place.
Quarter 1 Has Closed
Quarter 1 of 2026 has officially ended, and we are now in Quarter 2. If you have already signed your contract but have not yet submitted your Q1 data, we encourage you to send it as soon as possible so we can begin review and feedback.
Clients who submit data on a quarterly basis consistently see stronger scoring outcomes, as quarterly submissions allow us to identify data collection issues early and adjust workflows for the remainder of the year. This proactive approach often leads to improved measure performance and overall MIPS scores.
CMS Timelines
To meet MIPS program requirements, it’s important to plan ahead for data collection timelines:
- Promoting Interoperability (PI):
If this category applies to your practice, you must collect data for a minimum of 180 continuous days during the performance year. - Improvement Activities (IA):
Data for Improvement Activities must be collected for at least 90 consecutive days within the reporting year.
Ensuring compliance with these minimum reporting periods is critical to receiving full credit and avoiding penalties. Be sure your tracking processes are in place early to support accurate and complete reporting.
2025 CMS Feedback & Final Scores
CMS is expected to release 2025 performance feedback and final scores in mid to late June. We will continue to monitor CMS announcements closely and will keep you updated as more specific timelines become available.
As always, thank you for your partnership. If you have questions about your contract status, data submission, or reporting strategy, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
